Sam Fox College spring Public Lecture Sequence begins Jan. 19 – The Supply

Pritzker Prize-winning architect Francis Kéré, creator and illustrator Deb J.J. Lee, avant-garde stage director Robert Wilson and trend technologist Anouk Wipprecht are amongst a global array of inventive professionals who will talk about their work through the Sam Fox College of Design & Visible Arts at Washington College in St. Louis’ spring Public Lecture Sequence.

Celebrated sculptor Chakaia Booker will launch the sequence Jan. 19. Identified for her use of salvaged rubber tires, Booker fuses ecological considerations with questions of id, citizenship and industrial manufacturing. Final summer time, Booker put in “Shaved Parts,” the biggest single work of her profession, exterior WashU’s Mildred Lane Kemper Artwork Museum.

Born in Burkina Faso, Kéré studied carpentry and structure in Berlin, the place he established his studio in 2005.
