Pritzker Prize-winning architect Francis Kéré, creator and illustrator Deb J.J. Lee, avant-garde stage director Robert Wilson and trend technologist Anouk Wipprecht are amongst a global array of inventive professionals who will talk about their work through the Sam Fox College of Design & Visible Arts at Washington College in St. Louis’ spring Public Lecture Sequence.

Celebrated sculptor Chakaia Booker will launch the sequence Jan. 19. Identified for her use of salvaged rubber tires, Booker fuses ecological considerations with questions of id, citizenship and industrial manufacturing. Final summer time, Booker put in “Shaved Parts,” the biggest single work of her profession, exterior WashU’s Mildred Lane Kemper Artwork Museum.

Artist Anika Todd, who investigates methods of panorama, possession and management, will proceed the sequence Jan. 24. On Feb. 3, Wilson — whose groundbreaking works embrace collaborations with Tom Waits, Philip Glass and Lucinda Childs — will kick off the Sam Fox College’s annual Laskey Charrette.

Architect Mario Gooden, at present designing The Woodson African American Museum of Florida, will talk about his observe Feb. 6, adopted by photographer and digital artist Al-An deSouza Feb. 8 and set up artist Alison Hiltner Feb. 22. Jason Ross, the founder and inventive director of equipment label Artemas Quibble, will communicate Feb. 23.

Los Angeles-based architects Mark Lee and Sharon Johnston will talk about their work March 1. Sarita Sundar, founding father of Bengaluru, India-based design consultancy Hanno, will communicate March 2. Cory Henry, whose namesake Atelier spans artwork, structure, and urbanism, will communicate March 3, adopted by Barcelona, Spain-based architects Anna and Eugeni Bach March 6. Sculptor Tamara Johnson, the Sam Fox College’s Henry L. and Natalie E. Freund Instructing Fellow, will communicate March 8.

Artwork director Chad W. Beckerman, whose credit embrace greater than 40 New York Occasions best-selling books, will communicate March 9. On March 10, curators Perrin Lathrop and Jamaal Sheats will talk about the exhibition “African Modernism in America,” on view on the Kemper Artwork Museum this spring, with Saint Louis College artwork historian Olubukola Gbadegesin. Textile artist L.J. Roberts, whose work explores queer and trans activism, will communicate March 20. Lee, creator of the forthcoming graphic memoir “In Limbo,” will communicate March 30.

Kéré, the primary African architect to win the Pritzker Prize, usually seen as structure’s highest honor, will talk about his work April 1. Born in Burkina Faso, Kéré studied carpentry and structure in Berlin, the place he established his studio in 2005. Identified for creative civic buildings, notably colleges, the agency employs each native labor and eco-friendly, domestically sourced supplies, resembling clay and eucalyptus wooden. Kéré’s discuss is offered together with the 111th annual assembly of the Affiliation of Collegiate Colleges of Structure, hosted by WashU’s Sam Fox College starting March 30.

Wipprecht will talk about her observe, which spans couture, know-how and interplay design, April 4.
