RLRS Scholastic Artwork Awards Competitors Winners!

Congratulations are to ensure that Rangeley Lakes Regional Faculty artwork college students. But once more, excellent dedication, inspiration, and encouragement have paved the best way for inventive accomplishments!
This 12 months is Scholastic’s Centennial and there was an amazing pool of candidates. The jury members hailed from Maine’s skilled artist neighborhood together with, New Techniques Gallery, Elizabeth Moss Gallery, Maine Faculty of Artwork & Design (MECA&D), skilled artists, and native gallery curators. The jurors shall be listed on MECA&D’s Scholastics web page.
The Scholastics candidates represented greater than 50 faculties, college students from over 70 completely different Maine cities, and almost 800 works entered into the competitors.

An Awards ceremony was held on Saturday, March 11 at Maine Faculty of Artwork & Design to have fun and acknowledge these excellent college students’ work. The gold medalists will proceed onward to the nationwide stage the place they may compete for added awards and scholarships and if chosen shall be acknowledged at Carnegie Corridor in Could.
From the coed exhibit work was chosen for Congressional Artwork Awards and for a statewide pupil artwork showcase on the state capitol, Maine Excellence in Arts Training.
The Maine Arts Fee, an unbiased state company that helps the humanities in Maine, has collaborated with MECA&D, the Scholastic Artwork Awards, and Maine’s two congressional places of work to have entry to the submissions for these competitions. An unbiased jury has chosen 34 items of flatwork – work, drawings, digital imagery, images, collage and graphic arts – to be displayed this spring on the Capitol Complicated in Augusta.
The items by RLRS college students Counting Lesson by Brooke Laliberte and Eyes on the Fungi by Addaline Hemingway are included. The work shall be transported and put in within the corridors of the Cross Workplace Constructing (behind the Statehouse) and the Fee’s places of work at 193 State Avenue, kitty nook to the Statehouse and throughout from the Blaine Home (the Governor’s Mansion).
The work shall be on show March 15 – Could 31, 2023. You’re welcome to return any weekday between 9-5 to view the exhibition. A closing reception is scheduled to be held on Wednesday, Could thirty first.
