After receiving the award from Spanish actress Paz Vega, Andrey Zvyagintsev stated, “Of course, Oleg Negin ought to be receiving this award since he’s the film’s true screenwriter. I would like to thank the Jury, Thierry Frémaux, Gilles Jacob and all those who loved the film. I would also like to thank my producers and my friends, who know who they are.”
