A Croat and a Serb, originally from the same village, but sworn enemies in the recent war, meet by chance on a London bus and start a fight. As their conflict progresses, the interlinked and troubled lives of four British families unfold as they are touched in various ways by encounters with other refugees from the former Yugoslavia.
