John C. Reilly has been an actor in theater, film and television for over 35 years. He made his film debut in Casualties of War (1989) by Brian De Palma. That role began a film career with some of the greatest American directors such as Paul Thomas Anderson Hard Eight (1996) Boogie Nights (1997), Magnolia (1999), Terrence Malick The Thin Red Line (1998), Sam Raimi For Love of the Game (1999), Martin Scorsese Gangs of New York (2002), The Aviator (2004), Rob Marshall Chicago (2002), Robert Altman A Prairie Home Companion (2006) and Adam McKay Talladega Nights (2006), Step Brothers (2008). Once he established himself at home he then worked with some of the most recognized international filmmakers as well, appearing in We Need to Talk about Kevin (2011) by Lynne Ramsay, in Competition at the Festival de Cannes, Carnage by Roman Polanski (2011), Tale of Tales by Matteo Garrone (2015) also in Competition, The Lobster by Yórgos Lánthimos, winner of the Jury Prize at the Festival de Cannes 2015, Les Cowboys (2015) by Thomas Bidegain and The Sisters Brothers by Jacques Audiard (2018). In 2022 he appeared remotely by Zoom in Stars At Noon by Claire Denis, Grand Prix ex-aequo at the Festival de Cannes 2022. He currently appears in the HBO limited series Winning Time.
