British director Lynne Ramsay studied photography at the Napier University of Edinburg. In 1995, she graduated from the National Film and Television School of London. In 1996, she was awarded the Jury's Prize at the Cannes International Film Festival for her film Small Deaths. After having directed two short films Kill the Day (1996) and Gasman (1997) for which she received numerous prizes, she directed her first feature film Ratcatcher (1999) selected for Cannes, Official Selection Un Certain Regard. She is now working on her second feature film, Morvern Callar.
